Alex’s Blog – New Term!

Where has Summer gone so quickly? While it’s a shame to say goodbye to the hot weather (not the 40° days though) September does mean the return of Freedom Studios Youth Theatre!

Kerry and I have been scheming away, drawing up plans and are excited to welcome the group back to the sessions. I was really proud of the play Revolting we created together. I can’t wait to see where our creativity takes us and make some great new pieces of theatre this year. We believe in giving our young people a voice and sense of ownership in their performances. This next term we will be looking at building up various acting and storytelling skills. We will be using these for the next play we will be showcasing in 2023. The story and characters will be generated and developed by using our members’ ideas.

If you’re thinking of signing up please come visit us, the best way to find if it’s right for you is to give it a try.  If you are a young person aged 11-19 that could benefit from developing skills in playwriting, acting, comedy, improvising, directing amongst others, we want to meet you! If you just want to have a good laugh and make new friends come down and try a session. It’s completely free! We are committed to making all our youth theatre activities accessible to all young people, we have an access fund to pay for taxis to attend if lack of transport is a barrier. We will also have a range of healthy snacks and drinks.
