New Youth Theatre Opportunities!

This summer we delivered our very first ‘Summer School’, and, thanks to a Youth Work grant from Bradford Council, it was free of charge for participants. We believe all young people should have access to the arts, as audiences and creators.
Five days of fun workshops explored everything from Shakespearean scenes to shadow puppets, led by our dynamic duo, Natalie Davies and Anna Parker. We also got to see a show at The Alhambra, and enjoyed guest workshops by Tim Wheeler, Kash Arshad and Tajinder Singh Hayer.
“I enjoyed the theatre trip to watch The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Nightime’. It had a good plot and the use of lights, sounds and scenery was good.” – George
“During Summer School I improved my vocal skills, movement (I can now show what my character feels) and team-working skills.” – Aleksandra
Thanks to the success of this we are piloting a new Youth Theatre, running on Saturday mornings at Freedom Studios. All young people from Bradford aged 13-19 are welcome to apply, but places are limited – so get in touch soon! Give Maria a call on 01274 730077 or email maria@freedomstudios.co.uk
Meanwhile, our school groups are exploring forum theatre as they prepare to take part in Revolution Bradford. It’s an enormous challenge, but we know they’ve got what it takes! Freedom Studios are also seeking participants for RVBD – a theatrical event in City Park and City Hall on 7th November. Join the Revolution!
