Our Mission

We are a new writing theatre company based at the very heart of Bradford. We celebrate the voices of South Asian and ethnically diverse people, young people, and working-class communities. We do this by harnessing the power of new plays, writer development and co-creation to tell their stories.

BRADFORD VOICES

This year Freedom Studios will embark on a brand-new project, Bradford Voices.

Bradford Voices will be a celebration of the talent and creativity that exists within our city and districts. Our home region is a diverse landscape of people and places. We know there are untold stories waiting to be told and Freedom Studios want them to be heard.

We will work with new and early career playwrights, young people and community groups to explore what storytelling means to them and what it means to live in Bradford right here and right now.

How will we do this?

We will do this by offering free to access creative opportunities for new and early career playwrights to develop their skills, create platforms for their work to be performed and create industry connections to help build future career pathways. We will be expanding our free to access young people’s programme. This will offer more accessible opportunities and fun ways to engage in creativity, express themselves and let their voices be heard. We will also be offering community co-creation workshops so people from across our region can explore the things that matter to them and give a voice to their stories.
