Recorded Live at The Holbeck
Saturday 10 July, 2pm
“Real event theatre. A perfect Saturday afternoon.” The Yorkshire Post.
15 Minutes Live is an afternoon of brand new short plays written for radio and recorded with a live audience. It brings together original plays from some of the most exciting writers in Yorkshire and across the country, with on-stage sound effects, audience participation and live music woven into the performance. You’ll be guided through a riotous afternoon by our lively compere.
Slung Low have been running 15 Minutes Live for many years and we are delighted to have partnered with them this year, to commission six playwrights to write an original short play, to be recorded in front of a live audience at The Holbeck.
The writers are Aina J Khan, Bradford/London based journalist, writer, playwright and International Fellow at the New York Times; Ben Tagoe, BAFTA nominated writer for Film, Television and Theatre; Claire-Marie Seddon, a Leeds based Actor-Musician, Musical Director and new writing talent; Tom Wells, a Hull-based playwright and Associate Artist of Middle Child; Rani Moorthy, writer, performer and artistic director of Rasa Productions Ltd and Ray Sesay, Actor and workshop facilitator.
All of the plays will be recorded on the afternoon and made available for free download shortly after.
Tickets are Pay What You Decide on the afternoon.
