In our 25-year history, we’ve established ourselves as the talent development pathway for people in Bradford. Ours is Britain’s youngest city and it has long been a hotbed for talent. And as Bradford comes into the spotlight as the UK’s City of Culture for 2025, there isn’t a better time to join us.

We are seeking applications for our Creative Lead role to provide artistic and operational leadership for Freedom Studios. We want to hear from individuals or partnerships who can fulfil the following duties and requirements of our Creative Leadership role.

Who We Are:

Freedom Studios is a theatre company based in Bradford. A company committed to its core values and its mission to ‘nurture new and experienced artists in Bradford with a view to bringing together audiences and communities by creating new work and other opportunities for them to engage with the arts.’

The company is known for its artist development programmes which include Introduction to Playwriting, Street Voices, attachments as Associate Artists as well as directing opportunities. The company also runs a growing and vibrant youth theatre on Saturday mornings for 11-19 year olds and delivers bespoke workshops in schools in the area. The company’s productions are known for their non-theatre settings with successful productions such as Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile by Lisa Holdsworth, When We Were Brothers by Ben Tagoe and North Country by Tajinder Singh Hayer.

The company is headed by Dermot Daly, Associate Artistic Director, and Mark Hollander, Executive Director, supported by Steve McCabe, Finance Manager, Joanna Jowett, Marketing Consultant, Chris O’Connor, Social Media and Website Manager and Duncan Clarke, PR.
